River Woman.

Auntie Marilyne Nicholls is a 'Victorian Indigenous weaver and painter whose work reflects her sense of connection with the Murray River and Coorong regions'. Marilyne won the Deadly Art Award at the 2008 Victorian Indigenous Art Awards and was taught weaving by her mother and grandmother, she has been sharing this skill for a long time. We are blessed to have her visit Daylesford.

Workshop Information.

As mentioned we are now at the senior citizens. Auntie Marilyne will have individual packs to distribute and show you how to make a small basket. You will be in our own square of room at safe distancing.
I'm hoping we'll get her to tell a few stories as well.
We will provide coffee, tea and muffins after so we can have a chat with Auntie Marilyne, keeping safe space.
Please bring water and any snacks you might like for yourself.
And any produce you might want to swap and share, Auntie Marilyne's idea.

It is really nice to know Auntie Marilyne Nicholls and her works as well. I am so excited to know how great the workshop will be and even though I will be able to know attend it, I am sure you will somehow give us some updates about it. Just please make sure to be extra careful during the event because we are still in the middle of pandemic. I wish you good luck on the day of the event and I am so sure things will be great since you guys are the ones who will be organizing it. I am hoping to hear from you soon.
